So what servers where they using to hack my wife’s Email.

So we now have control of my wife’s email account. Finally it took a while and she did loose some emails. however during this process I learned something interesting things.

 

First the people trying to take control of our system were you the servers at the following IP address’s

75.253.62.112

65.254.61.250

Now the first address comes from a range associated with Verizon Wireless devices. So either someone is using their phone tied to a PC or they are using a wireless data card from Verizon. I wonder if someone is missing their wireless data Card. Probably so. If they are using their own then that is to bad. because this can be tracked.

The other IP is for Server out of Georgia I believe or at least the IP is associated with a company out of Georgia. I am betting this server is compromised and the company that owns it does not know about it. I am betting that the attackers have control of it and are actively using it to attack users and try to maintain control of their accounts via that server and remain anonymous.

The attackers left me little tid bits of information. things like part of a phone number

That was from when they changed all of our account settings to point to something they could identify them by. And when we finally got into Hotmail. They left me an email address that all password resets were going to.

probably not their address either but hey all good information to help start tracking all of this activity. To bad that Ebay and Microsoft Hotmail, and facebook will not talk to me. I know they have the information because it is saved in case they get subpoenaed but I doubt any of it is actually being used to actively search for these people.

I have screen shots of most of this. and can validate all of it. We are just glad to have control finally. I am sure all my data will probably be sold for the next couple of months so we will have to continue keeping a close eye on what happens.
